mcminn youth community group

McMinn Youth Community Group—what we call MYCG—is a weekly gathering of high school students from all over McMinn County and beyond. Whether you're deeply committed to your faith or just curious about Jesus, there's a place for you here. MYCG is a vibrant, community-based youth group designed to help teens build authentic friendships, grow in faith, and feel supported—no matter their background, school, or church home.
A Youth Group That Feels Like Home

MYCG began in 2016 when a group of young adults—Erick & Ashton Innis, Cameron & Katie Brewster, and Chase Toomey—dreamed of creating a more accessible and meaningful youth experience for local teens. They launched a weekly, in-home youth group to help students explore faith, build community, and experience life together. Their vision was simple: create an "on-ramp" to Jesus and a "family of friends" for teens to walk through life with.By 2018, The Greenhouse Church embraced MYCG as its official youth ministry. Since then, the church has fully supported and funded this effort—not just for Greenhouse students, but for any high schooler in the region. We’re here for public school, private school, homeschool, and hybrid students. We’re here for longtime believers, new seekers, and anyone in between.
Any high school student (9th–12th grade) is welcome. You don’t have to go to The Greenhouse—or any church at all—to attend. We recognize that many students are happy with their church home but are missing a “youth group experience.” MYCG is a space where you can belong, grow, and connect without needing to leave your church or feel pressure to change where you worship on Sundays.

What We’re About
At the heart of MYCG is a desire to point students toward Jesus—the one who makes us fully alive. Each semester we walk through a different teaching series rooted in Scripture, carefully designed to be both relevant and transformative. Whether we’re discussing identity, purpose, relationships, or how to live like Jesus, everything we do is grounded in His story and truth.
our purpose
We believe MYCG matters because:It stretches the arms of the church into the community, making space for people to be known and loved. It offers an accessible place to explore faith, even for students who are new to church or uncertain about where they stand with God.It provides a youth group experience without pressure to switch churches, honoring the spiritual rhythms and relationships students already have.
